University is closed

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette has been monitoring the path
of Hurricane Rita and has decided to close its campus at 12:30 p.m.,
Thursday, September 22, 2005. The University plans to resume classes
and operations on Monday, September 26, 2005.

University officials encourage everyone to remain alert to local
directives regarding preparations for the storm. Essential University
personnel will remain on the job until further notice.

Because students will now have missed two Monday-Friday classes due to
Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, this Friday’s classes will be made up
during Fall Break on Thursday, October 13.

Telephone updates are available at the University Hotline
(337-482-2222). Due to the nature of the situation, the University
Hotline (337-482-2222) might be updated more frequently than this
page.

Addendum: 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 23, 2005. The University
continues to monitor the path of Hurricane Rita.
