Oh jeezus..literally

Interesting stuff here…at least from my perspective. Well, lets get
the obvious stuff out of the way, yea..im home for the weekend, and of
course, what would any grand ol weekend at home be like without a nice
lil talk from dad..?

Barely on my way to home with mom, stuff gets really eeeky. Let me
explain. I was telling her about my classes, and how much I enjoy
them, and out of all of them, modern physics. I want to explain about
this class, but im writing for something else, just trust me, it is
freakin awesome, I love that class. So im telling my mom about one of
the problems we did in class right..it kind of goes something like
this:

There are two planets, earth and some arbitrary planet we’ll call
Vulcan. Vulcan is separated by a distance as viewed from earth by
2×10^6 (2 million) light years. Let’s suppose that there exists a
transporter device that can instantly (according to the transportee)
take the person wherever he/she wants..something to the effect of a
star trek beam-me-up-scotty thing. We want to know if the
transporternaut is ‘beamed’ to Vulcan, stays one year as measured in
Vulcan years, and is then ‘beamed’ back to earth, how much time has
passed for [a] the transporternaut and [b] someone watching the whole
thing from earth.

The answer of course is for the time passed in the transporternaut’s
frame is one year and the time that passes for an observer on earth is
four million and one years bc of special relativety and time and space
are all relative. My mom is like “wow…but how is that possible?”..so I
go on to explain, and then out of the blue she just throws a red
herring into the conversation and says, “do you believe in
evolution?”…immediately im like, ‘oh , what did I start now..’. One
doesn’t ‘believe’ in evolution, it just happens..no more than you
‘believe’ you are aging or not, it just happens. So I reply w/, “what
exactly do you mean by believe and evolution”….”simple, do you
believe in evolution or creationism”…”well, as far as that is
concerned, I do not know for sure what happened then but evolution
happens all the time” [as I evade what I think happened and what I
know happened..since obviously I can’t know, but I can think I
know..]….”so you believe that we all just came from nothing?”…[thinks
to self: evolution aside, where did god come from? Nothing? Or was god
just ‘there’...of course, looking at evolution, there are various
theories about how the universe is here, including M-theory about
planes intersecting and the universe is just the so far unbalanced
part of the equation that will eventually right itself...then there are
other theories...but aside from that, just strictly looking at
evolution, it is not impossible that organic compounds would come
together to form to create very primitive life over a very long span
of time, so long, I can’t even begin to imagine..but yea, that ran thru
my head...and I reply with:] “I’d rather not get into this right now…”
And I just grab my book and continue reading…

Well, since this was rather disturbing to her…dad’s gotta know right?
You betcha..dad came in and starts talking about some random guy at
work. Well, “porkchop” as he calls him, was led to the lord by my dad
some time back..and my dad is like “god wants you to go to church”, or
something to that effect, you get the picture..but porkchop doesn’t,
and also in this span of time porkchop has several misfortunes, which
are not small at all in nature..including a very bad wreck in which a
friend of his from high school was killed, and porkchop was severly
injured. So since my dad is good at his logical flaws, this must be a
sign from god that he is punishing his new son. Of course, it is not
obvious at all were he is going with this one [cough] [cough].

So essentially my dad works his way into the conversation of [a] mark
if you are not saved, when you die, there is a burning hell waiting
for you..of course you know this, but it doesn’t change the
fact. Whether or not you believe in god, it is still the TRUTH in the
end. (or if you prefer..) [b] or you are truly saved and you’ve
deserted god. In that case, he is gonna treat you like his son and
punish you for what you’ve done….yea, im already getting
headache. Another thing we know from previous experience is that my
dad is good at repeating things, a good 3 or 4 times usually does the
trick, and nice and slow…so I guess that doesn’t leave as much
interesting things to write as there was time spent listening to all
of this…..crizzap. Basically he says we made a deal for me going to
school, that im supposed to go to church.oh and he regrets that he
sent me to get a better education, mind you, because my spiritual
education and grounding was not firm..in other words, if it is not
clear, he’d rather keep me at not-gonna-learn-at-shs shs than let me
get the step and one of the best decisions of my life by going to
lsmsa. All for what? Bc I have ‘let the things I have learned turn me
away from god’….”I don’t want you to be one of those 75% of college
students that lose their faith within the first year of
college”…”[oh, btw] if any of this sounds foolish to you, the bible
says that the word of god sounds foolish to those who are
perishing…if you are intelligent, it only makes it harder for you to
believe in god”…or lets see, I don’t just take in bs to be truth?
Hmm.. “just imagine if put as much energy into reading god’s word as
you do in, for example, math..son, you could be one of the greatest
people..with all of your intelligence”..in other words, chunk my brain
out of the window and become a bald bible drone..woopty doo.

Agh..at some point I need to wrap this up..might as well be here…you’ve
got the pic
